About The Artist

Laurent Dareau was born and raised in Paris, France, married to Celine and father of two wonderful kids -his favorite models- Julia and Tanguy. He received his formal training from the National Superior Decorative Art School in Paris, and his Masters of Painting from the National Fine Art School in Lyon.
He has held the esteemed position as portrait artist for the French Army and Foreign Legion, as well as being commissioned for many Official portraits within the United States and Europe.
He is currently exhibiting in galleries in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, London...

"I paint my friends, my family, children, to keep them, to remember them. I try to catch their spirit, their soul, to make something that goes away eternal. I like to think my paintings as mirrors, we see our own humanity, our own joys and pains, something we all have in common, and make us different too. Perhaps all these works are just self portraits, surely they are..."
